CIO Assist

Statera’s CIO Assist service provides a series of ‘corporate turnaround services for IT' to our clients.  CIO Assist works with our clients to reshape the organization and technology operations to achieve their vision for IT and guides them through what can be a turbulent, yet extraordinarily high-value, change.

These service offerings will focus on the following three areas:

IT and Business Transformation assists organizations with realizing more value and return from their IT investments.  Broken into specific elements, these services emphasize:

  • IT Value Management: Formalizes the tools and processes needed to bring fiscal discipline to the IT function, enabling clients to run IT as a business.
  • IT Transformation: Reshapes and guides organizations to achieve corporate vision and navigate needed change.
  • IT Governance: Institutionalizes the capacity to guide the formulation of IT strategy and plans, develop and implement initiatives and oversee IT operations in order to minimize risk, maximize return, and build current and future value.
  • Leadership Assessment: Assesses and reviews current leadership team, review skill sets, and develops competency matrix for desired leadership profile and requirements, post-transition.

Growth & Innovation services help IT and business organizations bridge the gap between on-going maintenance and support activities that ‘keep the lights on’ to those activities that exploit growth and innovation opportunities.  These services emphasize:

  • IT Strategy & Planning: Integrates business and IT processes to allow for continuous assessments/improvements and necessary adjustments in response to new opportunities and changing market conditions.  This empowers innovation and product portfolio mixes for new revenue growth.
  • Merger & Acquisition Advisory: Determines the optimal strategy for maximizing the value of each business unit, i.e., retain the business, sell the business, merge the business with another similarly sized operation, or spin-out the business by selling a minority stake to an institutional investor assisting in driving the decision making process forward into transaction execution.
  • Product Portfolio Assessment: Creates a complete product-based portfolio with assessment of both current and future products.

Operations Assessments provide advisory services on cost and service level structures to optimize the on-going maintenance ‘keep the lights on’ activities and provide strategies for deploying staff, applications, and infrastructure to best meet the needs of the company.  These services emphasize:

  • IT Sourcing Advisory: Examines the cost structures and service levels of current IT sourcing, whether insourced or outsourced and evaluates the options to improve cost and service through internal adjustments, vendor selection, contract negotiation and sourcing execution.
  • IT Assessment and Due Diligence: Evaluates IT strengths and risks across a wide array of IT disciplines, whether for current leaders looking to improve their organization or for a potential buyer seeking to understand whether IT will ultimately be an asset or a liability to the acquisition.
  • Staff Skill and Fit Assessment: Evaluates IT staffing skills, fit, roles, and responsibilities and makes recommendations for organizational changes to better suit the organization’s needs.
  • Application Health Check: Provides a high level assessment of the current array of business critical applications and provides recommendations for best pat forward – whether that includes replacement, re-engineering, packaged solutions, or other options.
