8/23/2011 - Statera designs and builds a technical solution to support the NCAA Swimming National Championships annual selection process.What is particularly important about this notable project is the fact that it will be modified for use by FINA ( Federation Internationale de Natation – or the International Federation of Swimming – which operates on behalf of the International Olympic Committee) for the selection of theSwimming Athletes for the 2012 Olympics in London. This will also mark the first time in Olympic history that the field of swimmers selected to compete in the Olympics will be limited to a maximum number of athletes. This system will facilitate this process via the single database oftimes/results captured on behalf of FINA by USA Swimming for all swimmers worldwide. The first delivery of this capability has been delivered to FINA in the form of an automated online entries system for the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai, China in July 2011. 8/23/2011 - Statera deploys Sharepoint Solution for a North West credit unionAfter gathering initial requirements and understanding the Credit Union’s current and future needs, Statera proposed a solution based on SharePoint 2010. At the time of recommendation, SharePoint 2010 was still in beta phase, but Statera was able to convey to the client the value of many of SharePoint 2010 features that would address both their current and future needs. 8/15/2011 - Statera executes a pilot migration to Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Windows ServerUtilize Bond Approved for Technology Improvements Throughout the District Plan, test and execute a pilot migration to Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Windows Server 2008 R2In November 2008, voters approved a bond issued to fund building and technology improvements throughout the school district. The school district received $14 million specifically designated fortechnology improvements. The client decided to use the bond for a 3-phase migration from a legacy environment to a Microsoft environment. This was a great opportunity for the client to upgrade to state of the art technology that would benefit the entire school district for many years to come. The first two phases, which consisted of an infrastructure assessment and design forActive Directory based on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Exchange Server 2010, were complete. The client needed help with the third phase which included planning and executing a pilot migration of user accounts, groups, mailbox data, workstations, servers and applications to thenew Microsoft environment. 8/15/2011 - Statera migrates from Windows XP to Windows 7Migration from Windows XP to Windows 7A six-phase approach was developed that governed the entire migration. The first phase was analysis, where relevant information was gathered, processed and presented as a deployment strategy that encompassed the nuances of the environment. The next phase consisted of deployment planning of technical aspects including the features of Windows 7 and Office 2010, and logistical aspects such as the selection of pilot groups and a timeline for communication and training. In the third phase, the team planned for the SMS to SCCM upgrade and constructed the lab, where they tested deployment tools and processes. The fourth phase was where the team identified training and created communications and schedules for management, support personnel and end-users. In the fifth phase, the deployment tools were tested by communication and deployment to pilot users, which identified issues and remediation tasks. The team then updated and refined the processes based on the pilot results. The final phase was where the SMS to SCCM upgrade took place. Detailed information was gathered from the Newmont headquarters and regional IT staff, which identified current state information that drove the SCCM environment design. Download the PDF.
4/19/2011 - Statera builds IHS a Change Enablement roadmap to make adoption of Microsoft CRM transition smootherA Comprehensive Change Enablement Plan Tailored to HIS’sNeedsIHS engaged Statera to design and implement a compelling, comprehensive plan to create high user adoption of Microsoft CRM. Statera’s change work started in the Proof-of-Concept phase, where a change assessment was conducted to identify the scope and magnitude of the impactsto the sales force due to the Sales Force Automation (SFA) tool. Through interviews, surveys and observations, Statera assessed the needs and created a plan to accommodate the unique characteristics of the implementation. The change plan encompassed a tailored training solution for the different audiences, a dynamic network of sponsors and change champions, a detailed, broad-based communication plan, and an effective user support approach. 4/18/2011 - Statera builds a custom internal Sharepoint site on the MOSS 2007 platformLeverage Existing SharePoint Platform by Creating Custom Application, Smart Documents, and WorkflowsNEC engaged Statera to assist with the planning, architecture, and deployment of a solution. With the input of the EBC team, Statera created an internal SharePoint site and custom application on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 platform. A key element of the application is a SharePoint calendar that displays all approved meetings and briefings in the EBC identified by the name meeting organizer, rather than by customer name, to protect client confidentiality. The platform for the solution is a SharePoint site which contains SharePoint lists that contain information such as catering items, attendees and meeting information. In order to make interacting with the lists friendly and straightforward, a custom meeting request wizard was developed using Visual Studio. Download the PDF.
4/18/2011 - Statera migrates from On-Premise messaging platform to Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS) Developed A Custom Migration From On-Premise Messaging Platform to Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite This was a unique migration because there was more than one company involved, the team decided to take a three-step approach. During the first step, the team performed rapid Active Directory and Lotus Notes environment assessments in order to understand the current environment, applications, dependencies, challenges and items that needed to be carried over prior to migration. The second step consisted of the selection of a migration tool to transfer messaging information that was eventually implemented on a migration workstation. A server that performs identity replication with Active Directory and BPOS was also deployed and configured in this step. After the custom migration was complete for Pavestone, the team was able to replicate and complete the migration for Bedrock, Glass Mountain, Western Agg. and White Oaks Ranch, which was the third and final phase. 6/28/2011 - Statera's work with Girl Scouts of Colorado Not-for-Profit Organization Saves $71,000 First Year it Deploys Cloud-Based ServicesGirl Scouts of Colorado provides leadership training to girls through a network of staff and volunteers. To help its mentors work more productively on developing programs and coordinating fundraising, the organization needed to update its messaging and collaboration technology; but, with only one IT worker and a hefty server maintenance contract, Girl Scouts of Colorado could not afford to buy and maintain more physical infrastructure. Instead, it subscribed to Microsoft Online Services, avoided U.S.$50,000 in upgrade costs, retired 50 percent of its servers, and saved $21,600 in annual costs by retiring its original webinar service. With a rich, web-based email client, online collaboration capabilities, web conferencing, and instant messaging, Girl Scouts of Colorado personnel are working more productively to make a difference in the lives of nearly 30,000 girls across the state.
